Workflows2 min read

Make room for every frame. And every revision.

Animation moves through decisions as much as departments. A useful plan shows when the boards are ready, which work can start, and where a revision would ripple into the next stage. The same care matters in an AI-assisted film.

Start with your actual pipeline

Choose the template closest to your process, then inspect every phase. The 2D starting plan includes development, storyboard, animation production and post. Other production types need different tasks; do not keep an inherited step merely because it was in the template.

Name work in terms of an outcome your collaborator can recognise: an approved animatic, a completed sequence or a compositing pass. A tool name alone does not say whether the next person can start.

Make iteration visible

When a sequence needs another pass, show that work and the review it depends on. A task is one continuous date range. Separate genuinely distinct passes if a pause or approval between them matters to the production.

For AI-assisted work, make room for selecting candidates, checking continuity, preparing usable shots and finishing the edit. A model response time is not the duration of that whole workflow. Martini organises the schedule; it does not generate your film, certify continuity or infer that a candidate has creative approval.

Connect people and post to the same plan

Keep the sound, compositing and finishing work visible beside animation. Assign the relevant people and compare overlaps before accepting new dates. A duration extension might be easy to type but still require a conversation with the next artist.

The homepage example lets you extend compositing from four to seven days, see the changed bar in other views and undo the edit. It is an in-memory demonstration, not a live AI call. In your actual workspace, either edit manually or use the optional configured Agent, then inspect the result before sharing a new export.

  • Choose the closest template, then customise it.
  • Represent review and iteration explicitly.
  • Check the next handoff after a duration change.
